OUR PASTOR
After working for Allegheny Wood Products for thirteen years, Brad Taylor began driving tractor trailers for Wampler. Following a five year truck driving position, in 1998 Brad accepted the call to be lead pastor at Rig Assembly of God church.
Pastor Brad Taylor is passionate about teaching and preaching the Word of God, serving people, and seeing believers grow in their Christian walk. He feels that God’s call to Rig Assembly of God gives him the opportunity of leading our congregation spiritually while reaching our growing community with the Gospel.
The Taylor family enjoys spending time together as they fulfill God’s call in their lives. Brad Taylor met his wife Terri through attending church. They married in 1985 and have one adult daughter named Emily who lives on Maryland’s Eastern Shore with her husband Jake.
With his pastoral studies through Berean University, Brad became the lead pastor with a congregation of then around fifty. Following his position of lead pastor in 1998, Pastor Brad had a vision to see the church expand. In the fall of 1998 the Fellowship Hall was built, and during the following years additional acres had been purchased for the expansion of the church including a new parking lot, sanctuary, and buildings including offices and a gym. Throughout this time, Pastor Brad has felt God move in his life and throughout the church and its congregation.
Pastor Brad has taken great joy in what the Lord has done in his life, including overcoming open heart surgery and placing him at Rig Assembly. Romans 8:28 says that "We know all things work together for the good of those who love God", and Pastor Brad continues to believe that great things are in store for Rig Assembly and its people. As his favorite saying goes "love God and love people", Pastor Brad leads by example with his heart for missions and all people that he has the opportunity to encounter.
